Our engagement session was the first time I met Chelsea and Erick! Chelsea + I had kind of met before, via FaceTime, but this was the first time we got to meet in person and I was so excited!!! Chelsea and Erick are currently in a long distance relationship as she finishes up school, so we schedule their engagement session far in advance and thankfully had beauuuutiful weather the day of! We headed down to John Wright Restaurant for some industrial styled photos, since their wedding venue is similar! We finished up at Kline's Run Park "running" around the field.. haha, Chelsea!! " I don't run." so funny! By the end of our session, Erick was sweeping the hair out of Chelsea's eyes unprompted.. I just know their wedding is going to be a fairytale for all involved.
I've know Jenny for some time now, as I worked with her sister at Marcello's when we were in High School. The first time I met Jenn in person, I remember being in awe of how welcoming she is. She is one of those people who just make you feel so comfortable, like you've been best friends forever!!! I love those kind of people! I have been taking her younger sister's photos for a long long time now, and so I've just kind of been waiting + praying that one day Jenny would be in front of the camera herself!!! The first time she was in front of my camera was her sister's wedding, but this October was HER turn!
I feel like I start off everything blog post bragging about how sweet this couple is, or that couple is... and it's probably because I do. But that's only because all of my couples are the sweetest!!! We had to reschedule Justine + Dakota's photos once or twice, and they were so easy going about it! Willing to do whatever it took to get a day with great weather! Well, sure enough the back up date we set was calling for rain!!! Gosh, this fall had some weird weather. Upon checking the hourly forecast, we decided to stick with the same day, but bump our session time to the morning and it worked out perfectly!
I first met Chelsea + Scott a little over 2 years ago when they signed up for Christmas Mini Sessions. They were sweet as pie then, rocked their session and left their mini session leaving me hoping I'd hear from them one day when they get engaged. And I did :) Their engagement session was so much fun, complete with perfect weather. By the end of their session, Scott + Chelsea we're melting together like butterrrrrrrr. Makes me so. excited. for their wedding day images <3
I traveled to a new location for this session and it did not disappoint! I met Alana + Steve at Rodale Institute, along with their adorable dog, Iomi. We got the most perfect light and Alana + Steve were such naturals in front of the camera! Spending time with them made me 100x more excited for their wedding because I know the images are going to be amazing!!!
Welp. This session went of without a hitch. Minus the 40 people that we also at King and Queen's seat on Sunday! Jenn + Don got a few whistles and hollers from the crowd and it was hilarious. Actually, it was just one punk kid and it was kind of annoying!!! Everyone else was very, "oh that's so cute!".. I think one gal even snapped a photo on her phone!
We hung out, snapping photos at the park for about an hour or so. It wasn't till we were on our way home when we passed this GORGEOUS field that hadn't been plowed yet. It's common for those purple weeds/flowers to grow in fields, but this field was COVERED!! Jenn and I "oooh'd and ahhh'd" as we drove by, and Don, bless his heart said, "I'll turn this car around right now!"
These two are troopers. Not like cop troopers, but up-early-for-a-sunrise-session kind of troopers.
Meet Madea + Alex.
At 7am on Saturday we met at Chickie's Rock for their engagement session. I knew it was going to be a good session before we started. Madea, from day one, has been very "you tell me what to do and we'll do it". I was surprised at how ok she was when I said, "if you want to shoot there in the morning, we have to do a sunrise session because that's when the light will be best." I cannot thank her enough for trusting me! (more…)
Ah, this engagement session!!! When I saw on Facebook that Tanner and Kelsey were engaged, I immediately texted my best friend Harmony and said, "if Kelsey asks me to be her photographer, will you road trip to Vermont with me for their engagement session?!" Kelsey and Harmony are friends and so that's mainly how I know Kelsey!! Harmony said yes, so we loaded up the car at 5:30pm on a Thursday and started our 8 hour journey!
When you photograph a wedding, it's no secret that you hope the bride's awesome bridesmaids call you when it's their turn to walk down the aisle. I first met Meggan almost 3 (?) years ago, she was in a wedding I was photographing. I remember her being bubbly and very helpful throughout the day. Fast forward to just over a year ago, and she pops up in another wedding I was shooting! Again, she was so helpful and kind. And although I didn't get to see any of her awesome dance moves at that wedding, I left happy to see her and hoping she'd call me one day.
Allyssa and I grew up together. We were practically inseparable. We went thru a lot of life's stages together... Middle school, first kisses, high school dances, etc... We dreamed about our weddings together when we were little.
I still remember when she and Cliff started dating. We were freshman in high school and he was the cute boy in her computer class. The rest is pretty much history :) They're wedding day is probably going to be the most meaningful weddings I've shot to date. Allyssa and Cliff, I'm thrilled and beyond honored to be a part of your day! I know you've been waiting for it for SO long <3 (more…)
