Michael +Erika's wedding was amazing. It's as simple as that! Everything from the tartan details that are Michael's family's colors to the private estate they chose for their wedding venue was perfect. We had beautiful sunlight throughout the day that kissed the skin of all the happy people involved. Jessie + I are so thankful to have been a part of such a great day.
A fun little fact, while on the way to the church for the ceremony, we figured out that the bride and I might, somehow, be related... Mr. Sitler.. My great-grandmother married Jeff's grandfather. So if that means we're related, yay! (more…)
Well. This wedding was nothing short of amazing. I first met Kendi and Derek a few years back for their engagement session. They had plans for school and travel, and said they'd be in contact when they chose a wedding date. Two years later there is an email in my inbox with her name and "wedding photography" as the subject. My heart skipped a beat! They REALLY contacted me?! How exciting!!!
I knew their wedding was going to be the sweetest when they told me about the surprise anniversary cake they had for Kendi's grandparents. They now share the same anniversary <3 seriously, how adorable. It was hot that June day, but the love and happiness radiated from the faces of their closest friends and family brighter than that sun was shining.
After posting a few sneak peeks, I received another email from Kendi saying that one day, when it's time to start a family, they'll be in contact. I believe her. And I can't wait for a trip to Texas for their maternity and newborn photos one day. Heck! It might be a trip to Wyoming, Montana.. Wherever they are out west is fine by me :)
Thank you for letting me be a part of your day. Kendi and Derek, you two are the sweetest of souls with such spunky personalities that keeps those in your presence in a state of constant happiness. I wish you two the absolute best.
Never in my life have I met a bride SO excited to be marrying the love of her life. When Cody + Katie's engagement session went well last year, I knew it was going to be a great wedding, but my gosh was I in for a treat when I got to work. The love felt between the two of them was plain as day. I literally had tears in my eyes as I edited their photos. During the ceremony, they tied 3 strands together and wrote some of their own vows that had everyone cracking up.. So many smiles and laughs, no stress, just sunshine radiating through them on a rainy day. (more…)
There is so much I could say about these two! They are some of our best friends and they're celebrating their 1 year anniversary next Friday! We felt it appropriate to snap some photos to celebrate the love they share.
Amanda, I'm so thankful for our friendship we've developed over the last year or so. I'm extra thankful that you're in Shane's life taking care of that old man ;)
Shaner, love ya bud. So so happy for you!
Monday and Tuesday this week are basically my Saturday and Sunday, so naturally these past two days have been filled with HGTV home makeover shows and baby snuggles. When I got Addie down for a nap yesterday, I decided to just quickly scan through my new inquiry emails. I received an email that literally made my jaw drop and left me speechless.
Surely someone who is bad at math, just like me, counted wrong. "Are my days screwed up? Is it April 1st already?", honestly ran through my head. There are SO many talented photographers in our area, so many much more talented than me- this seriously can't be real. Things like this just don't happen to me! This will probably be a once in a lifetime thing haha... The email was signed with a name, number and requested I give her a call.
So I dialed 'er up and it was confirmed.
I remember getting a Snapchat from my friend Shane as I was walking out of the grocery store, something about him being late.. I snapped back a picture of a box of pregnancy tests because I had just realized I'd been late too.
As two pink lines slowly appeared, my first words were "holy s#!^."
I'm great with those types of things. When Mike got down on one knee the first thing I said was, "are you kidding me?!".. And the first time I saw Addie I somehow was able to mumble, "oh my God!" ;)
Today is March 17th. Almost a year since I found out I was pregnant.
Ok guys, before I start this post I want to acknowledge that I said before about posting sessions from the summer that I never got to share! I fully intended on doing that until I watched Katelyn James' Consistency Course and everything changed. I learned so much about editing that I never knew before that I could throw up. It was awesome. I want to re-edit everythiiiing but there simply isn't enough time in the day for that so I will pick up where I am currently and that would be Addie's 3 month update photos, so here we go...
We've made it a quarter of the way through "the first year". I'm going to high-five Michael when he gets home. We like to high-five when we accomplish big things.
I stood in the bathroom starring at my own reflection as tears ran down my cheeks. Mike already told me 3 times to get out of the living room because she could smell me and knew I was there. This bottle feeding thing is much harder than we thought. My plan of only nursing at first isn't working out so well, but I don't regret it. (more…)
Allyssa and I grew up together. We were practically inseparable. We went thru a lot of life's stages together... Middle school, first kisses, high school dances, etc... We dreamed about our weddings together when we were little.
I still remember when she and Cliff started dating. We were freshman in high school and he was the cute boy in her computer class. The rest is pretty much history :) They're wedding day is probably going to be the most meaningful weddings I've shot to date. Allyssa and Cliff, I'm thrilled and beyond honored to be a part of your day! I know you've been waiting for it for SO long <3 (more…)
In June, we had the wonderful opportunity to fly to Colorado! I was photographing a wedding for some of the sweetest people we've ever met :) We spent a week out there traveling around and I've already got my bags packed ready to move out there! We drove all over so we got to see SO much! We definitely could've used more time out there- there is SO much to see and do and some of the things on our "to do list" we weren't able to do because I was pregnant!! These photos are from our personal collection.. I finally got to edit them! They're cell phone photos, GoPro photos and photos from my camera... They're in no particular order! Enjoy :)
